Workshop Description:
This workshop focuses on providing scaffolding strategies to CLB 4 teachers on teaching Speaking II tasks in an online environment. It explores specifically what to teach and how to skill-build using online classroom activities on Avenue to help students succeed in a S II assessment task.
Presenter Bios:
Jessica Cheong has been teaching in the LINC program since 2014, working with learners across CLB levels 1 to 6. In addition to her teaching experience, she has served in various roles at ASSIST, including Program Coordinator and Digital Navigator. She currently teaches CLB 4 evening online class.
Rigvi Kumar is a CLB 4 Online LINC Instructor and PBLA Lead Teacher who has 8+ years of experience teaching & tutoring students in various settlement and English as a second language (ESL) programs, including EAP, LINC, and Writing Studies. She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed) in TESL from the University of Alberta. Rigvi is deeply passionate about developing effective strategies for teaching English as a second language.
