Microaggressions (from an anti-racist lens)

Mar 11, 2026

5:30 to 6:30 PM MST

Presentation Description:

Participants in this session will learn what microaggressions are, how they manifest, and the historical and systemic contexts that shape them. They will explore different types of microaggressions, their psychological and physical impacts, and how they affect individuals and learning environments. Through stories, examples, and practical frameworks, participants will build skills to recognize, interrupt, and respond to microaggressions as recipients, sources, or bystanders. The session also emphasizes microaffirmations as a powerful tool to foster belonging, trust, and inclusion. Ultimately, attendees will gain actionable strategies to support anti‑racist practice and create more equitable environments.
